Lemon + Cream
Joy × the pearl
Lemon is Joy, the yellow quality, bright and a little electric, the one that shows up as curiosity and the laugh that breaks out for no reason. Cream is the pearl, the fullness of being an actual person, rounded, unhurried, rich with everything you have lived.
Lemon alone is thrilling and thin. Cream alone is lovely and content to sit. Folded together they become the lemon posset, sharp and substantial in the same spoonful.
Young eros is mostly lemon, all spark and nerve. The eros that lasts adds the cream, the weight of someone who has become a person. Two such people at play is not the same as two kids at play. The laughter has a floor under it now, and the brightness does not curdle.
